Deputy President William Ruto has renewed his attacks on President Uhuru’s administration and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, whom he accuses of playing to political interests while discharging his duties as the country’s head of police.
Speaking on Thursday when he hosted leaders from Narok county at his Karen residence, seemed Ruto revived what happened when Interior CS Fred Matiangi was summoned to the National Assembly to shed light on his security.

”He is prioritising political assignments over the safety of Kenyans and now our security is in jeopardy. We are experiencing instability because the person who is supposed to be in charge of security is busy with petty politics,” Ruto said.
Leaders present at the Karen meeting were MPs Soipan Tuya (Narok County), Korei Lemein (Narok South), Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West), David Ole Sankok (Nominated), Mary Senata (Nominated), Ltumbesi Lelegwe (Samburu County), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Owen Baya (Kilifi North) and former Samburu West MP Jonathan Lelelit.
An agitated DP also asked Uhuru’s administration to allocate to Laikipia residents the 15, 000acre land Interior CS Fred Matiangi claimed belonged to him.

“Now that they said I own 15,000 hectares of land, I am giving them the authority to allocate it to the people of Laikipia,” the deputy president added.
On the other hand, Tanga Tanga MPs led by the DP are calling for the resignation of IG Mutyambai, saying he had failed to protect Kenyans, in the wake of the raging conflict in Laikipia county.
”The Inspector-General of Police Service must take responsibility for the disastrous situation in Laikipia and resign,” said Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
