Kenya is Heading in The Right Direction for 2027 Elections Where Kenyans will Pick their Next Government Peacefully

NCIC, faith leaders unite for peaceful 2027 elections

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and faith leaders have mounted a joint effort to promote peaceful coexistence before, during and after the 2027 general election.

It is great that national institutions in Kenya whose job is to bring peace and harmony in the country for all Kenyans are coming up with plans and ideas on how to ensure that the 2027 elections will be peaceful and every Kenyan will have a chance to vote for those they want to be their leaders in the next government.

Today Kenya was approaching a political stage where goonism is the only topic the politicians have been talking about because they have absolutely nothing in terms of what they want to achieve for the country and no plans for the future except to be in power.

The reality on the ground is that the worst goons in Kenya are the same politicians and now they have created a situation where every one of them including opposition leaders are hiring their own goons to kill people for them claiming that is their way of defending themselves and Kenya saw that in Homa Bay recently and that really helped the country to just say enough of that bullshit politics of killing Kenyans and then blaming others.

The truth is that if the country achieves peace and quiet as the campaigns goes on towards the election in 2027, many politicians including pretty much the entire opposition will not even bother holding rallies because they have no plans for the country. They do not want to talk about their healthcare plan to Kenyans other than abolishing SHA which today has health coverage for 32 million Kenyans.

Kalonzo Muysoka has promised to abolish SHA in his first day in office if he gets elected to State House and that means every Kenyan except the big politicians like Kalonzo himself who has health coverage in Kenya and can also get treatment anywhere in the world paid for by taxpayers.

Would Kalonzo want to have that discussion about healthcare with Kenyans? Not at all because he would be laughed out of stage and that is why it is better for those politicians to just talk about goons plus their WANTAM nonsense.

Once the goonism menace is resolved and Kenyans are out there living their lives, people will be surprised to realize that the opposition big wigs will be held up in their offices and twitter because they have nothing to talk to Kenyans about.

Consequently, Kenyans should give every support they have to national organizations committed to building a peaceful atmosphere for the 2027 elections and let Kenyans deal with the issues that affect their daily lives.

The emerging moves for peace and democracy came as a commitment to tackle political violence, hate speech, misinformation and identity-based mobilization was made on Wednesday at CORAT Africa in Nairobi.

It was contained in a joint communiqué issued by the NCIC, the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) and World Vision Kenya, alongside participating religious leaders, government representatives, civil society organisations and development partners.

“We, the religious leaders, faith-based institutions, government representatives, civil society organisations, and development partners, do hereby issue this solemn communiqué to reaffirm our collective commitment to national cohesion, peace, and peaceful elections ahead of 2027,” it states.

The groups said elections should be treated as more than political contests, describing them as critical tests of national cohesion, social trust and institutional resilience.

They said the country faces risks from “misinformation, disinformation, political polarisation, and identity-based mobilisation” as it enters the 2027 electoral cycle.

The signatories committed to promoting political tolerance, responsible leadership and respect for democratic processes while rejecting political violence, intimidation, ethnic mobilisation and goonism.

The groups also placed young people at the centre of their peacebuilding strategy, particularly Generation Z, saying their growing political awareness should be reflected in civic and political processes.

“We will establish sustained platforms for engagement between faith leaders and young people on governance, political participation, economic concerns and national cohesion,” the faith leaders stated.

They also plan to integrate youth into peacebuilding and early-warning structures while supporting civic education, mediation and digital literacy.

“We will launch a coordinated ‘Faith Against Hate’ campaign and strengthen faith-based digital peace initiatives to promote tolerance, responsible digital citizenship and peaceful coexistence,” they pledged.

They proposed an Interfaith Early Warning and Early Response mechanism linked to NCIC and relevant national and county institutions.

“We will strengthen existing faith-based peace and mediation structures in high-risk areas and establish an Interfaith Early Warning and Early Response mechanism,” the communiqué states.

They called on political leaders to reject violence, intimidation, ethnic mobilisation and goonism, while urging young people to exercise their political agency peacefully.

“We call upon young people to exercise their political agency peacefully and to reject recruitment into violence,” the communiqué states.

At the same time NCIC has asked church leaders to ask politicians who come to their churches to just do church activities and not bring their politics and acts of incitement at church which leads to violence in places of prayer and that has to stop.

NCIC urges churches to switch off microphones for politicians spreading hate

NCIC Chairman Bishop Kepha Nyamweya Omae told religious leaders that they have the authority to stop politicians from using churches to promote narratives that could fuel hatred and division, including switching off their microphones.

The remarks were made during a day-long consultative forum in Nairobi that brought together the NCIC and leaders from various religious denominations to discuss measures to ease rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The religious leaders agreed to roll out a nationwide anti-hate speech campaign aimed at promoting peaceful elections before, during and after the polls.

“We call upon political leaders to reject the use of goonism. We call upon our sons and daughters to reject recruitment into violence. We commit ourselves as faith leaders to move beyond peace messaging and practical action for peace,” Omae stated.

The politicians must leave the churches to hold prayers in peace for people who go to church for prayers and not for politics.

Politicians known for inflammatory rhetoric and publicly inciting hatred were also put on notice, with religious leaders committing to counter hate speech, misinformation, disinformation and digitally enabled incitement.

“We commit to counter hate speech, misinformation and disinformation and digitally enabled incitement,” Jeremiah Gumo, moderator, IRCK, stated.

The meeting further resolved to involve young people and other diverse groups in peace-building initiatives, while media organisations were urged to hold politicians accountable and challenge those promoting divisive and hate-driven politics.

On the side of President Ruto and his government this is the time for them to know that their first job in government is to keep peace and safety of Kenyans at all times and more so at a time when Kenyans will be going to the elections and we all know what happened in 2007/8 and nobody wants to see anything like that again in Kenya.

President Ruto must be personally be involved as the president and Chief Executive of the country in providing a peaceful atmosphere as Kenyans go to the next polls. Murkomen is not doing enough of his job as CS for Security of Kenyans and Ruto has to get in there and make peace for the country or be held accountable by Kenyans.

The strange thing for William Ruto is that with the kind of dead opposition he is facing, if complete peace prevails in the country and he takes his agenda of what he has actually done for the country up to now which is a lot to be honest and what he intends to do going to 2032 he will have no contest come August 10, 2027 because the opposition has nothing for Kenya.

President Ruto needs to understand peace and order for the country is the best gift he can give himself and all Kenyans and he can then go talk to Kenyans all across the country and tell them his plans.

The other day Ruto was in Narok and it was one heck of a rally that the opposition will never get and that is what he could see across the country.

In Narok Ruto talked about SHA and how it is helping Kenyans and told people that in Narok 465,000 people have enrolled in SHA and it is working for them. People want to hear that across the country because it affects their lives directly.

If peace prevails, Ruto can talk to Kenyans across the country telling them what he has done for them and what he intends to do going forward. Under those conditions Ruto will be surprised to find that the opposition leaders are nowhere because they do not have the goonism to talk about.

When that happens and the battle goes to the Kenyan masses some empty-headed opposition leaders will just hide behind their twitter posting all day when they attend funerals and church services. They will have to wait dearly hoping that twitter and Facebook can vote and the IEBC will figure out how to count those votes and give them victory in 2027.

President Ruto needs to take his Narok mission all over the country and he will win the 2027 elections pretty comfortably.

The last time Kenyans had the most peaceful election probably in the history of the country was in 2002 when President Moi wanted to keep State House through his little puppets and he had to face the Kibaki Tosha team of Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga.

Politicians today talk about Raila this and Raila that with many claiming leaderships in the country because they call themselves the political sons and daughters of Raila Odinga.

One thing none of these politicians seem to remember is what defined Raila Odinga politics at critical times like in 2002 when they had to kick out Moi was that Raila was a politician who believed that to take leadership in the country you must have an agenda that resonates with Kenyans across the country and that will move the country forward.

In 2002 Raila Odinga working with Mwai Kibaki came up with an agenda that the whole country fell in love with and that was the agenda for a new constitution to remove Kenya from the chains of supreme presidency where the man at State House decided everything for the country including all public services and development plans for the whole country and it was a mess with corrupt dictators running State House from independence to 2002.

Raila Odinga plan at that time was that the country had to put to an end to autocracy in a Kenya being run by one thug and his cohorts at State House.

Raila bult the change constitution teams in every district of Kenya and the plan for that new constitution was on the table for Kenyans to accept when they went to vote and that is exactly what voters did for their country and the rest is history.

KATIBA DAY

The entire opposition Kenya today has no agenda for the country and they themselves declare publicly that they do not need any plan for what they will do to make life better for Kenyans. They are convinced that yelling WANTAM every day is enough and they think that Kenyans do not need to know what opposition leaders intend to do to make their lives better and improve development in the country.

As far as the opposition is concerned Kenyans will be super excited to see their faces at State House and elsewhere in government doing nothing for the country.

The obvious reality in Kenya today is that if the election in 2027 becomes issue based and plans for the country becomes central in the campaign, William Ruto has no competition at all and will just walk over them when he goes all over the country telling Kenyans what he has achieved for them in his first term.

Kenyans will want to see what President Ruto has done on the ground and it will be up to the president to take Kenyans through all of those efforts on what they have achieved for ordinary Kenyans and where all that is going next.

Rigathi Gachagua does not even pretend to have a plan for Kenya if they win the elections because as far as he is concerned Kenyans have no interest in what the next government if opposition is elected will do for them.

At least Kalonzo Musyoka has a plan to abolish SHA and let Kenyans go to the village medicine people for their health needs. That is a brilliant idea from Kalonzo, isn’t it?

That will get Kalonzo millions of votes from Kenyans who do not need healthcare at all. It is a grand plan for Kalonzo and his opposition team. God have mercy on them.

We have MPs in Kenya who have been in office for 10-15 years and have received billions in CDF money and they cannot point to a single thing they have done for their constituents with the CDF money. Not one school built. Not a single healthcare facility. No markets built for local traders where the market provides the biggest economic place and opportunity for folks to survive.

Those MPs who have nothing to tell their constituents about what they have done are hooked up on irrelevant things to seek publicity and have nothing for those who elected them and the time is coming for Kenyans to throw out such politicians from parliament and get new leadership.
