Ruto Leads 2027 Race with 37% Support, New Poll Shows

President William Ruto would secure victory if Kenya held elections today, maintaining a commanding lead over the opposition.

This is according to the latest Infotrak Research and Consulting survey released this week.

The poll places Ruto at 32 percent support among registered voters, more than double that of his closest competitor, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who garnered 13 percent.

In a sign of the fragmented opposition, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i are tied for third place, each polling at 12 percent.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was impeached last year, trails significantly with just four percent support, suggesting limited traction for his political comeback efforts.

Siaya Governor James Orengo’s ally and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino attracted three percent backing.

Rounding out the field, former Chief Justice David Maraga polled two percent, while PLP boss leader Martha Karua secured one percent support each.

While Ruto’s support base remains relatively consolidated, his challengers are divided among multiple candidates.

Combined, the top four opposition figures, Musyoka, Sifuna, Matiang’i, and Gachagua account for 41 percent of voter support.R
