Where Was the Linda Mwananchi Mass Rally in Nakuru?

Linda Mwananchi calls for three-day protests to mark Gen Z anniversary

The Nakuru rally was supposed to be the defining rally for the Sifuna group and they have been promoting it for two weeks but on the ground the Linda Mwananchi big boys just ended up in a church to talk about another rally where they think they are now the leaders of the Gen Z movement and want to climb on their backs when they have nothing happening in their own rally now turned into church services.

Linda Mwananchi organizers finally managed to address crowds here and there in Nakuru in what was supposed to be their biggest public event in the country.

The good thing was that there were no goons or police violence to ignite political fires and that is what should happen all the time and let Kenyans go to vote in 2027.

The group began the day with a church service at Kivumbini PAG Church in Nakuru Town East before proceeding to a political rally at Mazembe Grounds in Nakuru Town West, where they addressed supporters for the better part of the day.

Siaya Governor James Orengo, one of the key figures in the faction, said the engagements are part of ongoing consultations aimed at safeguarding the party’s future.

The idea of this Orengo and Sifuna Group taking over the Gen Z movement to fight their petty political rivalry in ODM is fantasy at its worst.

The Gen Z population has proved one thing very clearly to Kenyans and that is the fact that they are no puppets for politicians to call to the streets to fight their endless political battles within political parties. Gen Z want a better country for them and for their future as Kenyans, so the politicians are wasting time thinking Gen Z Kenyans will come out for their rallies when the same politicians have nobody to join them in the streets.

Rigathi Bachagua has been threatening mass action across the country every week to overthrow Ruto from State House and every time he gives up after realizing that the Gen Z activists are not listening to professional politicians like him just fighting for power.

James Orengo can join that dead road of promising rallies all over the place and yet he cannot even get a decent gathering of people in his own county where they boo him all the time and now he stays very far from his county and office. Orengo cannot lead the Gen Z movement because they are the generation of his grandchildren.

Now leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi faction are announcing plans for three consecutive days of protests in June by Gen Z Kenyan activists without even bothering to talk to their leaders.

Speaking during a service PAG Kivumbini Church in Nakuru County, Siaya Governor James Orengo, a principal in the faction, said the demonstrations will be held on June 24, 25 and 26 to coincide with the anniversary of Gen Z-led protests.

“June 25 is coming, and we all remember Gen Zs lost lives for this country. So as Linda Mwananchi, we are asking you on June 24, 25 and 26 to make this country ungovernable. And that has happened before,” Orengo told congregants.

He added that the faction would not relent in what he termed as a struggle to “liberate the country,” vowing resilience in the face of possible state pushback.

“We do not fear any prison, we do not fear death. We do not fear anything but fear itself,” he declared. “The hour has come and the hour is now. This is a one-term administration.”

Orengo was accompanied by a host of elected leaders allied to the faction, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Sifuna said the faction’s presence in Nakuru was deliberate, aimed at spreading its message of governance reforms and defending civil liberties.

“Many are asking what we are doing in Nakuru. We have a message for the people here that this country can have good leadership, one that respects human rights,” Sifuna said.

“We want Kenyans to live in an environment free of corruption. You cannot tell us you are building roads when human rights are abused every day and people are being killed.”

He added: “We just want to liberate this country, and nobody will stop us—even if we are thrown in a den of lions.”

On his part, Osotsi dismissed claims of internal divisions within the movement, alleging attempts to sow discord among its supporters.

“I will not be cowed. We will not be intimidated as Linda Mwananchi,” Osotsi said. “They attacked me in Kisumu to cause bad blood between Luos and Luhyas so that our movement collapses. We are steadfast and we will fight for the final and most important liberation in this country and nobody will stand in our way.”

Babu also rallied supporters, describing Orengo as a key pillar of the movement’s leadership.

“As Linda Mwananchi, we will liberate this country, and the people who will do that are members of this team. People like Governor James Orengo-he is the source of our wisdom,” Owino said.

He further called on the government to address youth unemployment, warning against the alleged use of young people for political violence.

“Goons’ nonsense must end. Goons should be given proper jobs. The government should stop hiring young people as goons,” he said, adding that the faction would continue its engagements in Kisumu.

One thing that the Linda Mwananchi group will have to deal with is the fact that James Orengo is completely killing them politically at a time when Orengo knows he cannot even be elected as an MCA in his own county where as governor he has been a complete no show and an embarrassment to everybody who respected him by being the most incompetent governor in the whole country.

With James Orengo as the presidential candidate for Sifuna and his mob they may as well just retire from politics and find something else to do if that is possible.

Orengo Declares Himself Acting ODM Party Leader

Speaking during a Linda Mwananchi mega rally in Nakuru, Orengo claimed he had ousted Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga from the leadership role, accusing him of failing to steer the party forward and adequately prepare it for the 2027 general election.

“We know the Secretary General of ODM is Edwin Sifuna; and because Oburu is unable, now Orengo is the acting party leader of ODM. Thank you,” Orengo said.

Orengo: Next govt in this country will be formed by Linda Mwananchi
Orengo: I am the acting party leader of ODM

Siaya Governor James Orengo has declared that the next government in Kenya will be formed through the Linda Mwananchi movement.

He stated that ordinary Kenyans will play a decisive role in shaping the outcome of the next general election.

He insisted that when the right time comes, according to God’s timing, he will act, stressing that the tenure of the current administration under President William Ruto is coming to an end.

The time is now

According to Orengo, the Linda Mwananchi movement should take the lead beginning June 2026, suggesting a renewed phase of political mobilisation.

“I am asking you, from Nakuru, let us make this country ungovernable from June 2026. Nina hakika kwamba the next government in this country will be formed by the Linda Mwananchi,” Orengo declared.

“I want to pray with you that when God’s time has come, there will be no time for wantam or two tam, wakati wa Mungu ukifika unaenda siku hiyo. I am asking Kenyans that the hour has come and the hour is now. Kwa Kasongo, tunasema wantam.

James Orengo also claimed that leaders within the faction have never been defeated in their political engagements, adding that there is no battle they have entered and failed to win.

He added that their faction does not fear anyone in their journey but the fear itself, insisting that they will continue with their focus on governing this country.

Ukiwa na viongozi kama Babu Owino, Sifuna, Caleb Amisi, Osotsi, there is no war we can’t win, and the time is now. For us, we do not fear anything in this journey,” Orengo said.

Finally, we have a silly war going now about zoning for political parties. Some politicians have been hoping that the zoning war could lead to a fight between ODM and UDA and help the Gachaguas of Kenya politics.

The real issue political parties like ODM and UDA should concentrate on is how to get Kenyans registered to vote in every part of the country. Voter registration is the issue where Kenyans would love to see politicians doing everything to help Kenyans be able to vote.

What is the point of fighting for zoning in places where millions of eligible voters are not even registered to vote like in Nyanza? Help Kenyans get registered to vote and they will pick their leaders as they see fit and that is their right. Full stop.

That is the discussion ODM and UDA should be having at this time even before they go to the power sharing dialogue and they have time for that. Voter registration has to be happening right now.
