Speaking on Monday at a Raila meeting with a section of Mt Kenya leaders and business moguls in Muranga, Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe disclosed the ruling party’s plans which are at an advanced stage and will see the president’s party formally throw its weight behind Mr. Odinga for the top seat.

”Soon we will hold our NDC and we will ask delegates to adopt Raila as our candidate. Ours will be at KICC and ODM will have theirs at Bomas, then we meet at Nyayo and unveil our joint candidate under Azimio la Umoja,” David Murathe said in the Muranga meeting.

Odinga is expected to hold a major rally this Saturday at the Ihura Stadium in Muranga, an event to be attended by all President Uhuru Kenyatta allies in Mt Kenya. Even as the former prime minister intensifies his campaigns in the vote-rich region, leaders from Muranga county are asking Odinga to consider Peter Kenneth as his running, a move supported by a number of leaders in the region.
