A number of businesses establishments and prime properties across the country associated with the Fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta, and former Interior CS Fred Matiangi are reportedly targeted by the Ruto government following revelations by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday that their administration will repossess illicit wealth accumulated by senior figures in Uhuru’s regime.

Among the targetted assets include a financial institution, two prominent dairy companies, and huge land swathes of land in Mombasa, Kilifi, and Transmara.

On January 10th, the second in command claimed that about 10 people stole billions from taxpayers in manipulated deals. Mr. Gachagua noted influential families whom he did not name were behind corruption in the milk, tea, and coffee sectors, duping farmers.

In April 2022 as President, Uhuru Kenyatta gave a 2B subsidy which benefited coffee farmers across 32 counties.

DP Gachagua in the Interview from his Nyeri home vowed that the Kenya Kwanza government led by President William Ruto will go after the retired head of state Uhuru Kenyatta’s corrupt allies.

If executed, the move will see a number of land title deeds held by prominent individuals canceled and business deals taken away.
