Kenya Kwanza leaders want Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Maalim Mohamed out of government for being partisan during the presidential campaigns and actively rallying support for Azimio candidate Raila Odinga.

A number of Rift Valley MPs at a closed-door meeting with President William Ruto in Nairobi on Tuesday evening not only singled the Rift Valley RC for removal but also demanded the sacking of County Commissioners Stephen Kihara (Uasin Gishu), Samson Ojwang (Trans Nzoia) and Erastus Mbiu (Nakuru).

During one of his presidential campaigns in Eldoret, William Ruto accused Mr. Mohamed of holding night meetings and using state resources to plan political violence in Uasin Gishu. He claimed the Rift Valley RC was being helped by Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, and Nakuru county commissioners.

”The Regional Commissioner of Rift Valley, Maalim Mohamed, the County commissioners Samson Ojwang of Trans Nzoia and Stephen Kihara of Uasin Gishu and Erastus Mbui of Nakuru are part of this scheme. They are the people holding night meetings to plan conflict amongst Kenyans,” Ruto said in August.

Kenya Kwanza MPs want all public officials who backed Mr. Odinga out of office and the entire government reorganized.
