Sifuna will Come Back from the USA Before Gachagua Moves there Permanently to Live in his Farm in Texas

Sifuna takes Linda Mwananchi mobilisation to US diaspora ahead of 2027 elections

As part of his hot start for his presidential campaign, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is taking the Linda Mwananchi movement’s political mobilization to the United States, with a series of diaspora engagements scheduled across five locations between November 20 and December 4, 2026, as he builds support ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua has been in the USA for two months before coming back so there may be millions of votes there or a lot of cash for the campaigns.

An itinerary circulating under the banner “Linda Mwananchi US Diaspora Tour” lists Allentown, Pennsylvania, as the first stop from November 20 to 22, followed by the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area from November 23 to 26.

Sifuna is then scheduled to visit Dallas from November 27 to 28, Houston from November 29 to 30, and Seattle and California between December 1 and 4.

The itinerary does not specify individual venues, meeting hosts or the exact activities planned in each location.

The tour will begin in Allentown, Pennsylvania, before moving to the DMV region, which covers Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.

The final legs will take Sifuna to Texas, where he is scheduled to engage Kenyans in Dallas and Houston, before concluding the programme in Seattle and California.

Gachagua: I will relocate to US if Opposition loses in 2027

DCP leader says he will move to America with his family if the Opposition loses the 2027 elections, warning Mt Kenya against political divisions.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he could relocate to the US with his family if the Opposition fails to win the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua, who heads the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), said he would consider leaving Kenya if the Opposition lost the presidential contest, particularly if divisions within the Mt Kenya region contributed to its defeat.

Speaking during an interview with a vernacular television station on Sunday night, Gachagua expressed confidence that the Opposition had the numbers to defeat the incumbent but warned that internal disagreements could jeopardise its chances.

“I am convinced that the Opposition will win, if it does not allow itself to be divided,” he said.

The former Deputy President made it clear that his decision to remain in Kenya would partly depend on whether Mt Kenya voters heeded his calls to unite behind a single presidential candidate.

He warned that if the region allowed competing political interests to split its support, he would have little reason to remain in the country.

“If our people allow themselves to be divided, I will just board a plane and go to the US. I have a home there,” he said.

Gachagua suggested that he would not wait until after the election to make his decision if he became convinced that the region had been misled by its own political leaders.

“If I see that our people have been misled and divided through their own leaders, because I will be woke, I will not be here in Kenya,” he added.

He maintained that he had made considerable efforts to bring Mt Kenya leaders and voters together and would not take responsibility if the region ignored his appeals.

“I have tried to unite the region, so no one will ask me any question. No one will ask me the reason for fleeing. I will just go to America with my people because I have a home there,” he said.

Gachagua was on a long tour in the US, where sources indicated that besides interacting with Kenyans living in the country, he also stayed at his home.

“Ruto will try to use our people to split the region, and if I see that happening, I know that Ruto will be re-elected. And if he is re-elected, we will be in trouble, but I won’t be here. I will be in America. I have a house there,” Gachagua said.

He went further, framing his potential departure as a direct consequence of political persecution rather than personal choice. “We cannot allow the Mt Kenya Region to be divided. I know we will defeat Ruto if we unite as the region, but if we don’t, Ruto will be re-elected, and if that happens, I will board a plane and go to the U.S. I have a home there,” he added.

He left Kenya on August 26 and returned quietly on October 20.

The Anti-Corruption court has allowed the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)’s application to withdraw a Ksh.7.4 billion fraud case against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and nine others.

Judge Victor Wakumile notified the accused persons that they might be re-arrested over the same charges in future.

Kuria said he has already engaged members of the diplomatic community over rising incidents of politically linked violence, warning that those behind such actions could ultimately face international justice/FILE

Kuria questioned the implication of Gachagua’s statement, arguing that political leaders should consider the millions of Kenyans who do not have the financial means or privilege to leave the country if the political situation does not favour them.

In a post on X, Kuria said he had watched Gachagua’s interview and described his remarks about relocating to America as disturbing.

“I took time to watch Rigathi Gachagua on Kiririmbi last evening. The most disturbing thing is for a leader at this level to say that he will move to his home in America if Ruto wins. What about millions of Kenyans who do not have that privilege?” Kuria wrote.

Kuria said the proposed opposition alliance involving Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i would face significant challenges because of competing political interests.

“There is no unity formula that will make Kalonzo, Sifuna and Matiang’i work together. And Riggy G should stop guilt-tripping Kikuyus for that. It is not our fault,” he said.

I mean this is the opposition President Ruto faces and he is just the luckiest president ever in Kenya with an opposition which wants to live in the USA. Trump will take them. Mercifully.

Gachagua’s arrogance and pride could split opposition – Matiang’i
Gachagua’s arrogance and pride could split opposition - Matiang’i

And the mess in the opposition goes on as the Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang’i cautions opposition leaders against sidelining other political players in efforts to form a united opposition, warning that such exclusivity could fracture the coalition and deepen divisions in the country.

Speaking on NTV on Sunday, November 1, Matiang’i responded to remarks by Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, who said he, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Linda Mwananchi Movement’s Edwin Sifuna were enough to form the next government, with other leaders free to join.

Matiang’i argued that such remarks reflected majoritarian arrogance and could make it difficult for opposition leaders to be united.

“That majoritarian arrogance and that particular pride is precisely what is going to split the opposition and make it very difficult for the opposition to come together,” he said.

In Matiang’i’s view, the opposition should instead embrace an inclusive approach that brings all Kenyans on board, arguing that the country’s leadership should not be determined by a few political groups.

“No Kenyan left behind. We must have everyone on board,” he said.

Matiang’i also opposed the idea of selecting a presidential candidate based on ethnic numbers, saying leadership should be determined by competence, character, qualifications and track record rather than community background.

Gachagua must stop political bullying: Muturi warns DCP leader over opposition unity and 2027 strategy

Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi has issued a fresh warning to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of engaging in political bullying and undermining efforts to build a united opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Muturi said Gachagua must abandon what he described as double-speak, intimidation and attempts to dominate other political parties, arguing that no single individual or community could claim ownership of the opposition or Kenya’s presidency.

“Mr Gachagua must understand one fundamental truth: No Kenyan President has ever been made by one community alone. The presidency is won through national consensus, strategic alliances and the ability to unite Kenyans across ethnic and regional boundaries,” Muturi said.

He warned that the former Deputy President’s insistence on tripartite political arrangements risked fragmenting an opposition that needs to agree on a common strategy to challenge President William Ruto in the August 2027 elections.

Muturi questioned whether the opposition was focused on winning State House or allowing individual leaders to pursue separate political interests.

“Is the objective to win the presidency or to control MPs, legislators and devolved units while sacrificing the bigger national ambition?” he posed.

Meanwhile Edwin Sifuna already has a DP candidate with him who should be in the Linda USA trip and let’s see how things go from there.
