Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s supporters are in disbelief following Senator Wahome Wamatinga’s strange disappearance after publicly welcoming Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at the Nyeri ASK Show on Friday and then left immediately.
Wahome was front and center in receiving Gachagua, but his sudden absence later in the day has raised alarm bells among the Deputy President’s loyal base.
What makes this even more troubling is that just yesterday, Wahome was reportedly part of a secret meeting in Nyahururu where he and other leaders were pushing for Kithure Kindiki to replace Gachagua as Deputy President. Their reasoning? That Gachagua is too blunt with leaders—an excuse that is not sitting well with Gachagua’s supporters, who appreciate his honesty and firmness.
Wahome, who was openly advocating for Kindiki to be given more power during an interview on Muoroto FM, seemed to have no issue endorsing a move that would weaken the Deputy President’s influence. His two-faced behavior, first warmly welcoming Gachagua and then allegedly scheming behind his back, has sparked outrage among Gachagua’s allies.
The final straw came after Gachagua made an impromptu address in Nyeri town, where he was met with massive support.
However, Wahome was nowhere to be seen, leaving many to wonder if his loyalty to Gachagua has been compromised. His unexplained absence has only added fuel to the fire, with many now questioning his true intentions.
