Ruto, Mudavadi men meet over possible 2022 pact

Deputy President William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi could be working on a formula that will see the two leaders face off with Raila Odinga as a joint ticket next year.

According to reports, the two leaders who have both declared they are in the presidential race to the end are looking forward to one dropping his bid and backing the other.

The surmounting pressure for Mudavadi and Ruto to work together is informed by the fact that the ANC leader cannot win the presidency on his own and has no political muscle to put up a formidable challenge to Raila Odinga, or even the DP.

On the other hand, the DP is facing the running mate dilemma and is also worried about his Mt Kenya fortunes as the country heads into 2022.

Currently, Musalia Mudavadi is part of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) which also has Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (KANU), and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya). Apart from Wetnagula, all other three principals in OKA have declared they will be running for the top seat.
