President William Ruto has embraced recommendations from the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO), tabled by the ruling Kenya Kwanza and opposition Azimio la Umoja coalitions yesterday, saying the move now allows Kenyans to move forward.

He spoke on Sunday at the Priesthood Fellowship in Kahawa West, Roysambu Constituency in Nairobi.

“You’ve heard that those in charge of the Dialogue are done with that work, and we applaud them of finishing that task, now let us join hands and take Kenya forward,” Ruto stated and called on government spending to be reduced even further by 50% beyond the 30% proposed by the NADCO.

“They have given recommendations all those recommendations are okay. Where they said we lessen Government spending by 50%, I have done that already. Those calling for lessening to be done by 30%, I suggest that they increase it to 50% for Kenya to move forward. We must learn to live within our means,” he added.

”All the recommendations are made and are practical, and we are going to work on the recommendations to reduce the areas they have recommended and to do whatever they have recommended in Parliament. Those that belong to the executive, I’ll execute without any delay,” he said.

The President also called on Kenyans to unite and work together to build the country and improve the living standards of its citizens.

“The job of the rest of us as Kenyans is to unite and move together into the future to build our country and the unity of citizens of our country and to work so that we can grow jobs and enhance production productivity so that we can reduce the cost of living and create opportunities for Kenyans to be their best,” he said.
