Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua says the people of Mt. Kenya have had a long-standing dislike for the Odinga family and that attempts by President Uhuru Kenyatta to make Raila accepted in the mountain will yield no fruits.
”We have always rejected him. During the days of Kenyatta, we rejected his father (Jaramogi). We have always known he is a problem and we warned the president not to work with him. The president refused to listen. So he allowed him into our house. He has brought us bad omen in government,” the MP said in Karen at a meeting where the DP was meeting a delegation of leaders from Kitui county.
”He (Uhuru) is trying to bring him (Raila) to Mt Kenya. It is a waste of time.”
MP Gachagua who is currently facing money laundering charges at the EACC also lashed out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for pushing Deputy President William Ruto and his allies to the periphery, saying he has been influenced by Mr. Odinga who wants to be president next year.
The Mathira legislator’s remarks come at time reports indicate President Uhuru Kenyatta could be planning a reshuffle of his Cabinet to have allies of the DP fully out of government.
