Raila, Uhuru, Kalonzo Contribute Ksh2.5M to Azimio Coalition’s Police Brutality Victims Kitty

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga have contributed Ksh1 million each to support families of police brutality victims.

Speaking at the Kalonzo Musyoka Center in Karen, Nairobi, during a requiem mass in honour of victims of police brutality during recent protests again high taxes and cost of living, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka also pledged Ksh500,000 towards the initiative.

“Today we are launching a citizen’s emergency fund to offer practical support for families of the dead and the injured. We appeal to all Kenyans of goodwill to come through for their fellow citizens by contributing to this fund,” Kalonzo said.

Members of Parliament affiliated with the opposition gave Ksh1.5 million during the launch of the fund drive, while former Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa contributed Ksh200,000.
