Raila inciting Uhuru against Ruto, Muranga senator claims

2 mins read

Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata says William Ruto’s woes in government are instigated by Azimio Movement leader Raila Odinga who has been inciting President Uhuru Kenyatta against his deputy. Speaking to a local publication on Monday, Senator Kangata also dismissed the calls for Ruto to quit the government if dissatisfied with it, noting resigning was not an option for now and it will come at the right time.

”When the time comes, he will resign. For now, DP wants to continue making monetary contributions to the Jubilee party. There is no reason justifying resignation. DP has no problem with the President. We understand the President’s actions are being instigated by Baba,” he said.

His remarks were backed by Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono who said the DP leaving would be a sign of cowardice but hinted the DP will continue being in government and Jubilee Party then quit on or before March 26.

“Resignation is an act of cowardice. If we would have resigned, how would Kenyans know that we have evils, dishonesty, tyrants, selfish, thankless people in the Jubilee Party?” he posed.

On his part, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua said William Ruto is currently in government at the pleasure of people who elected him in 2017 and not President Kenyatta.

“The DP was elected by the people of Kenya. The President divorced his deputy in 2018. All that is happening now is Uhuru and Jubilee joining ODM. Uhuru and his project are our opponents,” he said.
