Rachel Ruto Wants Kenya Kwanza MPs’ Spouses to Adopt Kenyan Forests

First Lady Rachel Ruto has asked the spouses of Kenya Kwanza MPs to support their husbands by taking up initiatives geared toward greening Kenya.

Speaking at State House where President Ruto hosted a breakfast meeting for spouses of members of the National Assembly on Friday morning March 31, 2023, the First Lady urged the spouses to adopt a forest in their constituencies to support the national government’s target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.

The First Lady on March 21, 2023, announced that she has adopted 200 hectares (494 acres) in the Kakamega forest for re-afforestation.

She explained that her initiative was aimed at protecting the environment in the country and also encouraged like-minded Kenyans to partner with her in restoring forests.
