Azimio Movement leader Raila Odinga is in Muranga county for his presidential campaigns, meeting prominent billionaires from Muranga county and business leaders before a major rally later in the week.
Earlier at Thika Greens Hotel, the former prime minister held a meeting with elected leaders and senior government officials from the county led by Transport CS James Macharia.
According to reports, the former prime minister will be in the county entire week touring all its constituencies before the planned major rally at Ihura Stadium.
Muranga county plays an important role in Raila Odinga’s quest for the presidency considering more than half of the region’s business moguls reside in the county and have all thrown their weight behind Azimio Movement.
Former Gatanga MP and 2014 presidential candidate Peter Kenneth touted to be among the possible running mates for Raila is also from Muranga county.
