President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will this evening address the nation from State House, Nairobi, accompanied by Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi. According to reports, the leaders will thank the County Assemblies for passing the BBI sponsored Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020.
”We are this evening expecting a press conference at State House bringing together Uhuru, Raila, Kalonzo, Moi and Mudavadi to thank County Assemblies for passing the BBI sponsored Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020,” a source confided to this writer.
Following the passing of the 24 counties threshold, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are expected to hit the road to popularise the referendum Bill from next week as they race against time for a public vote by June.
On Tuesday, 23 county assemblies unanimously approved the BBI. The bill has been approved in more than 35 county assemblies so far.
