ODM Party Has a Solid Base in Nairobi and Should Field a Candidate

THE ODM PARTY Nairobi Governor aspirants should now come out and declare; so that the party machinery begins work in backing them.

In coming up with the city governor, the ODM Party must look across tribal lines and only pick a candidate who pledges to espouse the ODM Party ideal — one indivisible Kenya, equitably developed and ruled justly.

Such a candidate can be a Luo, a Somali, Luhya, Maa, Kalenjin, Kamba or anyone from the coast.

The ODM Party is a multi-tribal movement with representations from the entire Kenya. That movement must be blind to tribe and only loyal to party and its base.

Such a candidate can be anyone from any party who convert to our ‘church’ of ODM.

He/she could be member of ODM already, or a future ‘defectee’ to ODM Party.

The transfer window is soon open.

The one fundamental principle in picking such a candidate is that he be a person who will fly the ODM PARTY FLAG and keep our party alive in the CITY OF NAIROBI.

Because of past coalition arrangements which zoned out ODM from fielding a candidate in Nairobi, people assume the ODM Party has no capacity to field a candidate.

The party has the highest number of MCAs in the county assembly; which it controls.

The party has the second highest number of MPs elected. The Party elected the senator and the woman representing.

Other than the senator and Embakasi East MP, the rest of the party MPs are in ODM.

ODM Party has a solid base in Nairobi and should field a candidate. If it supports another party, the concession must be justified to the party base.
