Sources within the Azimio-One Kenya Coalition party suggest  Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka could be the Chief Minister in Azimio government, a proposal meant to avert any fall-outs should the former vice president not be picked as Raila Odinga’s running mate.

The chief minister’s position mirrors that of the prime minister where the office holder will be the coordinator and supervisor of all government functions and its operations.

”Azimio la Umoja shall establish the office of the Chief Minister for the purposes of inclusivity and smooth operation and functioning of government business. The government requires an office that coordinates its functions on behalf of the Executive for the proper execution of the day-to-day running of the government,” reads an Azimio-OKA strategy paper.

“(The Chief Minister) will supervise and coordinate government functions, chair all Cabinet sub-committees, liaise with Parliament in ensuring government business is achieved in both Houses, and prepare accurate and timely reports for presentation to his excellency the President,” the paper adds.

Credible sources within Azimio disclose that Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has been settled on by President Uhuru and Raila Odinga as Azimio Coalition’s running mate, a position expected to be made public soon.
