Ndhiwa Elders Threaten to Curse Politicians Pushing for PS Omollo’s Dismisal

A group of elders from Ndhiwa sub-county in Homa Bay has threatened to invoke curses against Luo politicians demanding the removal of Interior PS Dr. Raymond Omollo from office.

The elders, led by Michael Nyomino spoke during a community gathering in Ndhiwa, asked leaders to work for the people instead of petty jealousies, trying to undermine sons of Homa Bay holding key government positions.

”We are disappointed by our leaders who want PS Omollo and Michael Agwanda sacked. We are telling them to stop but we will curse them if they refuse,” Nyomino said.

They accused certain politicians of engaging in divisive politics that could weaken the Luo community’s influence in national affairs.

Their warning comes amid growing political tension following calls by several leaders, including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, for Dr. Omollo’s resignation or dismissal.

The leaders allege that the PS has been funding groups linked to an attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi during a recent event in Kisumu.

However, other Luo leaders have dismissed the accusations. Led by Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, they have described the calls for Omollo’s removal as “petty issues” that risk fracturing the community’s unity.

Oburu, also the ODM leader has urged leaders to focus on dialogue and reconciliation rather than public confrontations.

Dr. Omollo has strongly denied any involvement in political violence, insisting that he supports independent investigations into the Kisumu incident.

He urged politicians to allow law enforcement agencies to handle the matter without political interference.
