ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has eulogized the late Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo as an astute parliamentarian who was a strong supporter of Raila Odinga and the ODM Party. Speaking in Nairobi on Thursday during the late legislator’s requiem mass, the ANC leader said Midiwo was a good friend and a flamboyant individual who was very passionate about the country.

”He was a good man. And a good friend. He was a passionate legislator and a flamboyant individual. He had a style and was very passionate about this country. I recall that a combination of Jakoyo and the late Kajwang, when I was in ODM, was a very dangerous combination. During our encounter and our movement, when they were agile and about, they brought a lot of life and instigated a lot of conflicts and were diehard supporters of Rt Hon Raila Odinga,” the former VP said.

Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and a host of Senators and MPs were also present.

The late MP who succumbed to kidney failure on July 14th will be burried tomorrow at his Mabinju home in Gem constituency. According to the family spokesperson, a funeral mass will be held at 10am at Ndori Primary School, and the burial conducted thereafter at 1pm.

”Jakoyo will be buried where our parents were laid to rest. His burial will be conducted by 1pm. We don’t want the programme to drag because Jakoyo was against people crowding at funerals to avoid the spread of Covid-19,” George Midiwo told a local publication on Thursday.

Jakoyo’s remains will leave Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi on Saturday morning from the Wilson Airport to Kisumu International Airport, then be transported by road to Gem.
