President William Ruto on Tuesday picked Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja as part of his delegation to the Coast where the Head of State was inspecting the Galana Kulalu irrigation project, a move that has rattled a section of Mt Kenya leaders allied to DP Gachagua.
Some of the DP allies are reading a menacing plot by President William Ruto after picking Sakaja to accompany him to Kilifi County just a day after Gachgaua men promised to face off with the Nairobi boss.
On Monday, Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga warned Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja of impeachment if he continues disrespecting the deputy president. Wamatinga, together with other Mt. Kenya MPs claimed they are going to impeach Sakaja because they know he got his university education degree certificate from Gikomba Market.
“We want to say Rigathi Gachagua is not your equal. If you continue joking, we will impeach you. Rigathi made you the governor. Don’t play with the Kikuyu community. We will not relent,” the Nyeri Senator said.
Other leaders who accompanied President Ruto are Water CS Alice Wahome, Governors Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir (Mombasa), and Gideon Mungaro (Kilifi).
