Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has lashed out at DP William Ruto over his recent remarks that people in some parts of the country such as Kilifi still die of hunger, telling him (Ruto) that when he served as the country’s Agriculture Minister he did not do anything to help poor farmers in the Coast region when he had the power to.
While on a tour of the coastal region on Tuesday Ruto courted Kilifi residents, promising to heavily fund agriculture, livestock, and water sectors, and make the area Kenya’s food basket, pledges which were trashed by his opponents who have accused him of doing nothing while in power to solve the same problems he claims have not been solved.
