Khwisero MP Aseka latest ANC legislator to dump Mudavadi

Amani National Congress continues to become an empty shell following the defection of Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka to Raila Odinga’s Azimio Movement, saying it was an uphill task trying to sell UDA and William Ruto to his constituents.

Speaking on Sunday, just a day after his party leader (Musalia Mudavadi) entered a pact with DP William Ruto, MP Aseka disclosed he already knew the ANC party had no future and was already prepared to switch camp.

“The past two months I’ve not seen a future with ANC. We as ANC have always been team Raila now they have started making deals with DP William Ruto. I told them here at Kwisero, it is hard for the wheelbarrow to fit,” the MP said, while also explaining why he rejected Mudavadi’s invitation to Sunday’s NDC.

”That conference was not for ANC, it was UDA’s. And so I knew since the party is headed to the wheelbarrows, I packed all my belongings and left. I’m now in Azimio la Umoja,” he explained.

Hours earlier, former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende, former Nyamira Senator Mongare Okongo joined the Democratic Alliance Party (DAP) led by Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyi and associated with Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa.

Speaking on Monday after joining the new party, Marende said the decision to join DAP was motivated by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi’s newfound union with Deputy President William Ruto.

“He has gone to bed with the wrong company and my DNA does not agree with that company. We are not compatible and so from yesterday I and Mudavadi, on the political front, part company,” said Marende.

“If you shall deliver on an economy that is reformed, that is revitalized, as Mudavadi speaks, then you must have the right company and I’m afraid that from yesterday, I see betrayal,” he added.
