Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka is open to taking up the position of the Leader of the Opposition in line with the proposal of President William Ruto that such a position should be created through an amendment in Parliament, so as to help hold the government accountable.

Despite Azimio leader Raila Odinga says he will not take up the role as proposed by Kenya Kwanza, Mr. Musyoka is believed to be positioning himself to be the official holder of the office if parliament passes the Bill.

Close allies of the Wiper leader have revealed he has been meeting political leaders across the country seeking counsel on his 2027 presidential bid.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, December 31, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua stated that it was high time that Raila endorsed Kalonzo for the seat.

He argued that Azimio needed to borrow a leaf from President William Ruto and settle on their 2027 flagbearer early enough and hit the ground running on campaigns.

“We need enough time to popularise our candidate, visit as many parts of this country, and ensure that Kenyans begin to familiarize themselves with the idea of a Kalonzo presidency,” Wambua stated.

Yesterday, Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo confirmed that Kalonzo is scheduled to issue a major statement today regarding the country’s political situation.
