Kalonzo, Maalim Spat: Sad Spectacle for Wiper Party and Kenyan Opposition Politics

8 mins read

Addressing the press on Wednesday, Kalonzo announced that the MP had been thrown out of the party following his recent remarks, adding that the vocal lawmaker violated the constitution without revealing the specific sections breached.

“For the avoidance of doubt, honourable Farah Maalim who until now has been Wiper Democratic Party Deputy Leader stands expelled from the Wiper Democratic Movement for violating the constitution and the rights of Kenyans and even abusing Kenyan mothers,” Kalonzo Musyoka announced.

This expulsion comes months after the Wiper Party vowed to take action on the outspoken legislator following his reckless utterances against the anti-government protestors.

Farah’s controversial remarks

The Daadab MP, during a recent political roadside rally, hurled expletives and unprintable adjectives towards the youthful Gen Zs who criticize the government online.

“When you see everything progressing and then some fools say ‘Kasongo Ruto must go.’ To hell with those who say that! Is he sitting in your mother’s or father’s seat? He is sitting in our seat, and we will re-elect him; we will deliver 99 per cent or even 100 per cent. We are saying Ruto will stay until 2032,” Maalim stated, adding unprintable insults directed towards youthful Kenyans.

Maalim’s comments have elicited sharp reactions from Kenyans, with many condemning his tone and sentiments as divisive and derogatory.

Speaking on Friday, January 10, at the launch of the Cheboror Last Mile Connectivity project, Maalim passionately defended Ruto’s leadership, praising his development agenda and promising to rally support for his re-election.

In his address, Maalim lauded Ruto’s government for what he termed unprecedented development in historically marginalised regions like North Eastern Kenya.

He acknowledged the long-standing perception that regions beyond the Garissa Bridge were isolated from the rest of the country.

“Since Kenya gained independence, when we crossed the Garissa Bridge, we used to say we were going to Kenya. For the first time since independence, we have all the development we need, initiated by none other than our President William Ruto. This is the first time since independence that we truly feel like we are Kenyans,” Maalim said.

He highlighted ongoing projects in areas previously left behind in national development, highlighting what he described as Ruto’s commitment to equity.

However, it was Maalim’s abrasive criticism of Ruto’s detractors that sparked an uproar among Kenyans online.

Referring to critics as “fools,” the MP dismissed their opposition to Ruto’s leadership, asserting that Ruto was legitimately elected.

The MP further vowed to deliver an overwhelming majority for Ruto in the 2027 General Election, claiming that regions like North Eastern and Upper Eastern would give him a 99% vote share.

“When you see everything progressing and then some fools say ‘Kasongo Ruto must go.’ To hell with those who say that! Is he sitting in your mother’s or father’s seat? He is sitting in our seat, and we will re-elect him; we will deliver 99% or even 100%. We are saying Ruto will stay until 2032,” Maalim declared.

Wiper expels Farah Maalim as Deputy Party leader.

I am not interested in Wiper, Maalim takes a swipe at Kalonzo

Daadab MP Farah Maalim has termed as inconsequential Wiper party’s move to expel him over alleged vulgar remarks.

The MP told the press in an interview moments after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced his alleged expulsion that he has moved on.

“The statement has zero consequences for me,’’ Maalim said insisting that the party had no legal mandate to expel him.

“I am not interested in Wiper, in any case, I resigned months ago as Wiper deputy party leader,’’ Maalim said.

The MP claimed that during his tenure he had helped Wiper grow into a national outfit “due to hard work’’.

“My political ideology is that I don’t oppose the government for the sake of political sycophancy,’’ Maalim stated.

Maalimu said under the 2010 Constitution, a member does not automatically lose a parliamentary seat by being expelled from a political party like in the Kanu days.

“You can expel me as a member of the party, but you have not expelled me as a Member of Parliament,’’ Maalim told Musyoka.

A few months ago in the middle of a national youth and Gen Z rebellion against the Ruto regime, Farah Maalim stated loudly and publicly that is he was President Ruto he would shoot and kill 5,000 of those Gen Z demonstrators every day. Did Kalonzo Musyoka say anything about that considering that this Maalinm guy was his deputy in the Wiper Party? No Kalonzo said nothing.

Then Farah Maalim goes to a TV interview with Jeremiah Kioni from Jubilee and Kioni storms out of the interview because he said he cannot share a platform with Maalim. It was chaos. Did Kalonzo do anything about that?

This is basically how the opposition against William Ruto is screwed up.

In the meantime Kalonzo Musyoka has assured kidnapped and abducted Kenyans that his huge dogs will save them. Kalonzo’s dogs probably eat more food than all the abducted Kenyans. How stupid this is I don’t know.

Kalonzo stages ‘hunt’ for abductors as he walks his dogs

The debate surrounding abductions in the country appears to be taking twists and turns each passing day, sparking a mixture of shock and bewilderment.

Police have denied involvement in the series of abductions which peaked after the June 2024 Gen Z-led protests, leaving citizens wondering who then could be abducting and disappearing Kenyans.

On Wednesday, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka took things to a whole new level, albeit in jest, when he was out walking his dogs.

In a video he posted on his TikTok account, Kalonzo is seen walking one of five dogs on a road depicting police officers on a hunt for imaginary abductors as handlers of the other four dogs followed close by.

“Look there, twende, abductor huyo, abductor huyo,” he said repeatedly.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka walks his dogs, January 15, 2025. This is how politicians like Kolonzo think they will get the Gen Z voters. A complete Joke.
