Raila Odinga is cobbling up what has been described as a Herculean political alliance, which brings together his allies in the 2nd liberation struggle as well as emerging young leaders in the ODM Party.

On Monday, the ODM leader held a three hour meeting with Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

”The meeting centred around their political identity, their roadmap to 2022, and how they plan to take the political battle forward,” a source said.

The meeting with Amason Kingi now puts to question whether the governor who has declared his intentions to run for presidency outside ODM, will drop his ambition. The Kilifi boss is pushing for the formation of a Coastal-based political party.

Less than a fortnight ago, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna announced the party was in the process of crafting a new political alliance that will shake the nation.

“The post-BBI alliance ODM is working on will be fresh, strong, vibrant, and packed with men and women who can stand on their own and give birth to a new nation post- BBI,” he said.
