Jubilee Party leadership has resolved to strike out Gatundu South Moses Kuria’s name out of Jubilee Party register and expel him from the party, for publicly endorsing and campaigning for another party’s candidate. On Wednesday night, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s men held a crisis meeting following a thorough beating in the Bonchari and Juja byelections.

”The loss makes Uhuru Kenyatta look bad. It was a major upset for Jubilee Party and Moses Kuria’s waterloo. A byelection will take place in Gatundu South before December this year,” a source confided to this writer.

Moses Kuria is emerging as the face of Mt Kenya rebellion against President Uhuru’s regime. His party, the People’s Empowerment Party comes out as the strongest competitor of Jubilee Party in the region, after winning three seats in the three by-elections it has taken part in. The PEP is associated with DP Ruto whom a number of sources say is bankrolling its activities in Mt Kenya.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC on Wednesday announced George Koimburi of PEP as the MP-elect for Juja constituency in the just concluded hotly contested race. Mr. Koimburi beat Jubilee’s Susan Njeri after he garnered 12 ,159 votes against her 5,746 votes.

Dr Joseph Gichui, a young medical doctor and an independent candidate settled on a distant third with 1,356votes.
