All major roads leading to Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) will be temporarily closed on Monday and no demonstrators will be allowed through.

This is according to reports from the country’s security apparatus ahead of the March 20th demonstrations led by the Azimio Coalition.

The reports also indicate vehicles ferrying politicians and their supporters will not be allowed inside the city on Monday.

The police have enlisted officers from the GSU, the Administration Police’s Rapid Deployment Unit, and regular police officers to help in containing the demonstrators on that day.

Officers from the DCI and others in plainclothes will be monitoring the security situation in the city and its environs.

Approximately 500 boots are expected on the ground for the operation.
