Free Advice to Azimio: Please allow all your DP candidates hold joint rallies now

Some good things have happened to the Azimio team in the last few days. They hit the road running after the emotional Kibaki burial in Othaya. Raila and his team went out to talk to citizens in Nyeri and then they headed out straight to Kirinyaga and we are seeing that image of Azimio that Kenyans fell in love with from the beginning of the year.

They are active out there and Kenyans are coming out to talk to them. That is how you run and win elections. It is not rocket science. It is common sense and talking to the people that you want to elect you and put you in power is the only way you make any progress.

There was all that hullabaloo about Kalonzo Musyoka not addressing the mourners at the Kibaki funeral last week. Kalonzo has asked everybody to put a rest on that because it is not an issue for him. Good.

But here is my big 10 million pound idea. Azimio needs to get over this who is going to be the DP cheap talk. It is unnecessary and counterproductive. It is just stupid talk, to be frank.

How great would it be for Azimio and Kenya as a whole to see Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth, Charity Ngilu, and all other candidates for Azimio DP position to be having joint rallies in Kenya and telling the citizens that they are ready to work as a team to build the country that Kenyans want which will provide jobs and food to Kenyans through smart economic and social programs.

That is what Kenyans want to hear. Azimio does not need funerals to talk to Kenyans. They are all out there waiting to hear from them. Go talk to Kenyans and they will listen to you.

Go out there even without Raila to meet Kenyans. You will be surprised about how well Kenyans will receive you with energy and goodwill. That is how you build your leadership credentials not by complaining and demanding things. Go out there and do it. Now is a very good time to do that.

This would be a huge difference in how an Azimio government would be run. We already have a country in which political leaders want to cut out like a piece of cheap cake and throw it around. Wetangula told the Bungoma folks today that they will get 30% of the government. And then Nairobi gets what? 50% of the government? You cannot run a country on such myopic thinking.

But then again what to say about people throwing cake for you to grab from and with the soil and swallow it quickly. Good foods. Right? Oh my goodness. Is this what we have become as a country? Yes indeed if UDA takes the country. Kenyans will stop them.

And Azimio doesn’t have to put up with rubbish from UDA folks who have nothing else to offer Kenyans other than gibberish about Kalaonzo and Azimio.

“Although I am on the other side, I am pained when I see how Odinga and President Kenyatta undermined Musyoka during the funeral of former President Mwai Kibaki. As if that is not enough, Odinga is planning to take Musyoka through a panel that includes his ally, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, to determine if he is suitable to be his running mate,” Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said on Monday.

This crap can be put to rest by Azimio getting their DP issue out of the question and reaching out to Kenyans. That is not difficult for sure. Let’s get to work. And now is a good time to do it.
