UDA stalwart Boni Khalwale continues to pout and non-verbally express his displeasure over the Deputy President’s decision of settling on Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala as the Kenya Kwanza gubernatorial candidate in the county.
After attending a joint press conference with DP William Ruto, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Senator Cleophas Malala among other leaders on Wednesday in Karen, Dr. Khalwale shared a Facebook post claiming he had strategically set up Malala on his timeline.

”After intensive consultations, soul searching, reading from the script of Michael Kijana Wamalwa & in keeping with my iconic mantra of decisive leadership, I’ve today happily opted to return to National politics leaving Malala to steer Kakamega County,” Khalwale said yesterday after stepping down from the Kakamega gubernatorial race.

This morning, the former Ikolomani MP who is said to have been forced from the race in favor of the ANC Party said in another Facebook post he was a good player and had taken up the position assigned to him by the coach. However, the caption was accompanied by a photo with markings on the faces of leaders present at yesterday’s presser in Karen.

Sources from UDA disclose the party will not field candidates in the entire Western region, instead, it will support ANC and Ford-Kenya. This deal was reportedly reached for Musalia Mudavadi to forego the running mate position in favor of a candidate from Mt Kenya.
