Among the many reasons CS Justin Muturi is bitter is because he was removed from State Law and replaced by a Luo woman.
Mt. Kenya people are generally bitter when replaced by Luos but that bitterness becomes even more intense when the replacement is a Luo woman.
Ever since Dorcas Oduor became Attorney General she has improved government representation in legal disputes where the government has been sued.
Under Muturi, and some past AGs, government would lose cases because of weak legal representation which allowed past AGs and senior vegetables at State Law to amass substantial wealth as kickbacks.
One of President Ruto’s key pillars, Dorcas Oduor is also the AG who goes to court and sits for long hours in critical matters.
She ably represented top cop Gilbert Masengeli, whom civil society types nearly lynched. His conviction was purged.
But it is the impeachment of primitive tribalist Rigathi Gachagua that the fresh AG assembled a team of great legal minds to implement a presidential directive.
There is no doubt in legal circles today that the government of Kenya is being served by a stealth woman of law, a career government insider and above all, a diligent loyalist with no unbridled hubris of her immediate predecessor.
Dorcas Oduor became Attorney General after years of being bypassed purely on account of her tribe. Her application for judgeships never materialized as Uhuru played Luos on a long con game.
Her appointment gave her automatic seat on the Judicial Service Commisison (JSC), an institution which had stalled her.
In appointing Oduor, a glass ceiling was broken. Little Luo girls who dream to be attorney general in future have valid dreams — that includes my daughter, Min Jaoda!
The Luo can forget many things but I hope they never forget that William Ruto helped them shatter many of the Kikuyu created myths on the roles that Luos should or shouldn’t be ‘trusted with’.
Oduor should serve as our Attorney General till 2032 and beyond. Muturi can go get sloshed. Should be sacked and that job given to me.
Kumi bila break!
