DIKEMBE: Mt Kenya Had A Chance To Make Raila President In 2022

The notion that we are “not in government” is meant to psychologically prepare us for the possibility of a nonexistent future government of ODM where the Luo will have more ‘say’ but such a government is merely wishful thinking for the foreseeable future.

If Mt. Kenya (Uhuru, SK, Kamau wa Raila etc) wanted to make Raila President they had that chance in 2022. It was what Oburu called “reciprocal support”. They did not extend it.

Raila lost in Uhuru’s village, in Karua’s village, in Kioni’s village, in SK Macharia’s village, in Betty Murugi/Orengo in-laws village, in Karanja Kibicho’s village, in Peter Munya’s village and in Kamau wa Raila’s village.

It is against this backdrop that we must ask what has changed that’s making Raila a palatable/viable candidate?

What would make them vote him now which stopped them from doing so in 2022?

People who fell out with President Ruto because he ‘betrayed’ them by accommodating Raila and his Nyanza group will suddenly embrace Raila and vote for him?

If the Luo entertain this madness it will be to their terrible disadvantage.
