Can Anybody in the Ruto Government do Anything Good and Sensible for Kenyans?

High Court grants LSK and KHRC’s request for leave to file a judicial review to challenge the KAA’s decision to lease JKIA to Adani for 30 years.

The court has meanwhile issued a stay prohibiting any person from implementing or acting on the privately initiated Adani proposal over JKIA pending the conclusion of the court case according to a statement from the LSK President Faith Odhiambo.

The LSK and Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) have done a great job for the country and for Kenyans.

This is what the so-called opposition parties and leaders hunting to lead the country like Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua and others should be doing instead of endless statements about Azimio but of course, they have never done anything like this so they are clueless. But yes, indeed Kenyans do have some legitimate opposition within the country’s civil society and human rights movements, and that has always been the case.

This Adani secret deal with President William Ruto to just grab the Kenya airport system is doomed and dead.

From some of the details emerging in the media this is just a horrible deal from hell. The Adani Group are not just going to be allowed to do whatever they want with JKIA and build their own airports. Still, they are going to be allowed to bring foreign workers to replace those Kenyans working there which means they are going to be shopping all over India and elsewhere for cheap labour to bring to Kenya.

To imagine that this is happening at a time when the Ruto government is trying to ship Kenyans for jobs in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere because they have no jobs for them in the country is just pure insanity. But the deal is dying and if Adani has paid any money to those giving them the deal they will have to figure out how to get their money back and that is their problem.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir.

Now the Ruto government is lying as if Kenyans are complete fools. They are claiming they just got a a PIP letter from the Adani Group and now they are looking at them. Nonsense.

The Ruto government must have initiated the deal with Adani Group because nobody is going to offer any government Sh. 260 billion investment without some very detailed discussion going on. In fact the Adani Group workers were already at JKIA setting their work plan before the whole con operation was unearthed.

The Kenyan government has reiterated that no formal agreement has been signed with Indian multinational company, Adani Group regarding the proposed Ksh. 260 billion expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir acknowledged the government’s failure to fully disclose details of the deal but emphasized that no binding contract exists.

“Today and over the past few weeks we have attempted to communicate. There was a bit of lapse of communication in the way we have carried the privately initiated investment by Adani in this airport,” Chirchir said during a press briefing at JKIA, following a meeting that resolved a strike by aviation workers.

Kenyans have to remember that the biggest party to to this Adani Group JKIA scam is the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) which is handing over JKIA and other airport businesses to this private company.

As we all know KAA has a huge outstanding case against President William Ruto in the court of appeals right now with regard to Weston Hotel built by Ruto on land grabbed from the KAA something which Ruto has admitted but asked to just pay a token fee to keep the huge stolen piece of land.

Ruto's Weston Hotel Secures 37 State Tenders Worth Sh57.9 Million

In recent news, Kenyans have learnt that the Weston Hotel, owned by President William Ruto, has emerged as a prominent recipient of government contracts among Nairobi’s hotels since the Kenya Kwanza administration assumed office in September 2022.

Data from the Public Procurement Information Portal reveals that the hotel has secured 37 tenders valued at Sh57.9 million, outpacing other local establishments such as the Fairview Hotel which obtained 15 contracts.

So this William Ruto hotel on stolen public land is now pulling in millions of public money. It looks with the new plan of turning over the KAA into a dead public institution after being absorbed by the Adani Group it is obvious that the entire KAA and JKIA and our entire airport system will be turned into a William Ruto dynasty business empire. KAA will withdraw its case against William Ruto on the Weston public land worth billions grabbed by William Ruto.

As a matter of fact two of the key figures in the Adani Group grabbing JKIA and our airline system are former Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen and Kenya Airports Authority Chairman, Caleb Kositany who are close William Ruto friends. They had this plan in full gear but they have been busted. Kenyans know what the plan was intended to achieve.

Just as the JKIA fiasco is exploding Kenyans were treated to some shocking expendtures by the Ruto government in the last two years they have been in office.

Documents tabled before the house team chaired by Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen show a total Sh3.6 billion had been allocated to the Blue Economy and Mining ministry for a three-year period to undertake a fish stock assessment exercise in the Indian Ocean. The Ruto government allocated that amount of money for someone to count fish in the Indian Ocean.

The first phase of the project began on July 1, 2023 was completed on June 30, 2024 during which the Ministry expended Sh1.6 billion.

The undertaking that commenced July 1st ,2023, they said, is set to be completed in the 2025/ 2026 financial year and is to be implemented in three phases.

“Out of that assessment, what was the end product?

Can any Kenyan believe that the Ruto government has already spent Sh. 1.6 billion to count fish in the Indian Ocean and intend to spent Sh. 3.6 billion in that crazy nonsense.

This was done under Salim Mvurya CS – Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs who was also a very close friend of President William Ruto.

How much fish has the Ruto government counted in the Indian Ocean and where exactly are the fish and what is this all about? Nobody is counting fish anywhere in Kenya let’s start there and that means this billions of taxpayer money was officially budgeted to go into the pockets of Ruto and his allies while pretending that they are counting fish.

 “samaki wa maji ya chumvi”.

Instead of the Ruto regime helping people to get fishing equipment like electrical boats to go fishing, building fish storage facilities and processing plants to help improve quality and marketing for the fish Ruto allocates Sh. 3.6 billion just for corruption while pretending they are counting fish knowing fully well that nobody can prove they are counting fish or not and so that is safe corruption for Ruto and his cronies.

The one problem with the Ruto government is that when they go for these big corruption deals, they do it bluntly and in your face kind of way for Kenyans. Telling the citizens that yes, we are stealing your money big time and if you don’t like it you can go to hell and we don’t care about that.

In the meantime, the new Kenya Police boss just recently appointed by President Ruto has been making it clear to Kenyans and our courts that he is above the law and is free to kill and kidnap Kenyans at will and make them disappear forever.

Masengeli convicted of disobeying court

Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has been convicted of contempt of court for failing to honour a court summons. Justice Lawrence Mugambi delivered the verdict on Monday, September 9, 2024, stating that Masengeli’s conduct had undermined public confidence in the judiciary and that state officers must adhere strictly to constitutional duties.

The Inspector General has been summoned to court seven times and each time he refused to come to court and this is a case about specific Kenyans who have been abducted by the police and have disappeared.

At the same time, President Ruto has been going around the country telling Kenyans he does not have any names of Kenyans who have been abducted or killed by his police force and he was asking any Kenyan with any information on the abductions and killings by the police to provide him with those names.

If your own police boss cannot even bother to show up in court where specific names of Kenyans killed and abducted are being provided, is that the plan to keep those names hidden so the government can pretend nothing happened?

The petitioners, represented by lawyer Nelson Havi, have been vocal about the need for severe consequences due to Masengeli’s apparent disregard for court orders. Havi expressed frustration over Masengeli’s repeated absences, questioning the limits of the court’s tolerance for such behaviour.

Adding to the criticism, Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), supported Havi’s position. Odhiambo dismissed the reasons provided by Masengeli for his absence as insufficient.

The case has also attracted attention due to the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of three individuals: Jamil Longton, his brother Aslam Longton, and activist Bob Njagi. These individuals were reportedly abducted by persons believed to be police officers during the Gen Z protests on August 19, 2024. The court had summoned Masengeli to provide explanations regarding their whereabouts.

Can someone send that body and the coffin to State House to let President William Ruto know that yes indeed Kenyans have been killed by his police force during demos all over the country against his government?
