COTU Boss Franci Atwoli does not give a hoot about people vandalising a road signage under his name at Dik Dik gardens, in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa area. Taking to twitter on Tuesday morning, the COTU boss said bringing down the signange does not hurt him and that his name has been recognised around the world and did not need a single street named behind him to be honored.

”Bringing down an honorary road signage under my name doesn’t hurt me. On the flip side, it will haunt, for life, those who are behind it. For how does it benefit them? How do you sleep at night knowing you are a vandal?” He posed.

“My name is all over the world and one doesn’t require a street signage for them to know who Francis Atwoli is. The name will live in posterity taking into account my years of selfless service to the workers in Kenya and the world. “

On Tuesday Kenyans woke up to images of vandals using tryres to torch down the road signage in Kilimani.

In May, Deputy Governor Anne Kananu in May renamed Mandera Road in Kileleshwa after Atwoli to honour the veteran unionist for his role in agitating for Kenyan workers rights.

“This road has been renamed after my good friend and brother bwana Francis Atwoli in recognition of his selfless contribution and agitating for the rights of Kenyan workers in the last 54 years,” said Kananu.
