Amid Chaos and Death, William Ruto Is Destroying Kenya. Time for Him and His Regime To Go

LSK calls for independent investigation on the ‘massacre’ meted on Githurai residents

Wednesday, June 26, 2024 – Stray bullets reportedly killed a young trader on Tuesday night after police unleashed terror on Githurai residents.

The deceased trader identified as Ndung’u was among the best ground mobilizers for UDA when Ruto was campaigning for the top seat.

William Ruto had an excellent opportunity when he decided to address the country yesterday right after the most terrible day in the history of the country when police officers and Ruto security people were slaughtering Kenyans in Nairobi and all over the country.

The Ruto killers were using AK 47 rifles which are military weapons to kill Kenyans something truly shocking because that means the cops and security officers were shooting to kill. This was an army sent by the Kenyan government to kill Kenyan youth and that was their only task from above.

Kenyan police officers and security personnel take position to protect the Kenyan Parliament as protesters try to storm the building in downtown Nairobi, Kenya, on June 25.

Instead of consoling the country and offering an apology to Kenyan families who lost loved ones to police violence President Ruto, chose to insult Kenyans accusing them of committing treason against his government and bringing KDF to the streets in the country. It was a declaration of war from Ruto to Kenyans. It was a terrible thing from Ruto as the president in a country in total crisis and in mourning.

One day later Ruto realized he made a big blunder after other national leaders like Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have demanded that the state stop murdering Kenyans and Ruto must stop with his Finance Bill 2024.

In fact Ruto’s own DP Rigathi Gachagua made a name for himself when he absolutely condemned the killing of innocent Kenyans fighting for a better country. It was interesting that while Gachagua was in Mombasa addressing the country William Ruto was in Nairobi trying to come to terms with his blunders so far and addressing the country for the second day in a row.

And right now the underground war between President Ruto and his DP Gachagua has exploded and the country looks sicker than it already was. It is scary.

We have a situation where the DP is publicly telling his boss that he is surrounded with useless people in his NIS. It is nuts but that has been the Ruto government after two years in office.

Both President Ruto and his DP Gachagua addressed the country on the same day with Ruto having his in Nairobi and Gachagua doing his address from Mombasa. Ruto just finally realized his back was on the wall and even his so called friends from the West including President Joe Biden were telling him to stop killing Kenyans and listen to them instead.

Gachagua’s stuff was more deadly as he blamed the Ruto NIS for not only being incompetent but also claimed that there were plans already underway to blame the protests against Ruto taxes as having been funded by the DP himself and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

There is always the crazy nonsense that protests in Kenya are funded by this or that person. The government people will never comprehend that the youth do not need anybody to pay them anything so that they can come out and protest against harmful government plans that are ruining their lives.

Abductions, extra-judicial killings are back, Gachagua regrets
He asked security agencies not to take Kenyans back to the dark days of Nyayo era.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed regrets that the criminal justice system is again being used to manage the politics of the country.

Addressing a press conference from Mombasa, the DP recalled that the Kenya Kwanza administration promised that Kenyans would be free to criticise the government without fear of reprisal from state agencies.

“This was a promise that both the President and I made. We want to call the overzealous heads of security agencies not to be tempted to use the criminal justice system to manage politics. Let us manage politics the conventional way through reaching out, consensus and concurrence,” he stated.

Gachagua claimed that he has information that some MPs who voted NO have been targeted by security agencies for harassment.

“The President and I promised that never again will the criminal justice system be used to manage politics,” he reiterated.

He said they promised that abductions and extra-judicial killings would never happen again.

“Sadly, this is back. It is unbelievable that the son of the Attorney General of Kenya was abducted in a commando style by officers of the National Intelligence Service and held incommunicado for 18 hours,” he added.

“I want to ask our law enforcement agencies to dignify the President and I before Kenyans and not backtrack on the promises we made to the people.”

Gachagua claimed that the NIS was crafting lies and propaganda to attribute the chaos to leaders including him.

He pleaded with security agencies not to take Kenyans back to the dark days of the Nyayo era.

William Ruto has not responded to the blast he got from his DP but Ruto’s new Twitter advisors who want jobs at State House are already offering free advice telling him that Gachagua and Uhuru are trying to overthrow his government.

So now the country has the president, his DP, and the National Security chief all engrossed in a fiasco of their own making. How worse is it going to get?

Why DP Gachagua wants NIS Director General Noordin Haji to resign

On the other hand, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday demanded that National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji step down from his position.

”The ONLY man who would convince Ruto to reject the Finance Bill was Noordin Haji. WHY? He had intelligence. Now Gachagua calls him incompetent. WHY? Noordin saw his civilian coup and stopped it. Gen Z are not the TREASON. The treason is Riggy G. His statement was DISGRACEFUL,” Mutahi Ngunyi on X.

In the meantime, the country is bleeding and a lot of Kenyans are enduring very painful time in their lives as they loose family members.

Hopefully, we will recover the country but it should start with William Ruto leaving office. The man has been in politics for more than 40 years starting his work with dictator Moi. Ruto has no idea what being a president of a country means. He has always been a follower and never a leader. The country can see that now.

The Nairobi City County Government now says that at least 12 people were killed during Tuesday’s anti-Finance Bill demonstrations.

In a statement on Wednesday, Health CEC Suzzanne Silantoi said the 12 persons were brought to the City mortuary and Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary.

“The Nairobi City County Government has confirmed a total of twelve (12) bodies, with six(6)at the city mortuary and six (6) at Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary, who were shot during the anti-finance bill demonstrations held in the city yesterday,” she said.

Here are Kenyans who cannot recognize their country now.

“I Don’t Want To Speak To Ruto’s Government. God Will Avenge Me,” Says Mother Of Killed Protestor In Anti-Finance Bill Protests

In the sad news of the day on June 26 – Tears, anger, and a somber mood filled the air in several city morgues, where the bodies of protestors shot dead by police during Tuesday’s deadly anti-Finance Bill protests in Nairobi lay.

Grieving families recounted the events that led to the deaths of their children, most of whom were under 30 years old.

According to reports more than 20 people, mainly youth, were shot dead by police during the protests against the Finance Bill 2024.

Capital News spoke with some of these families at Nairobi’s City Mortuary, where the bodies of six victims lay.

Carolyn Nduku, the mother of Erickson Kyalo Musyoka, 25, shared the last moments she spent with her son. Nduku last saw her son around 8 a.m. when she visited him at home while preparing to go to work. They watched the protests unfold on TV together.

“In our conversation, my son assured me that he would not take part in the demonstrations but would go straight to work,” she said. Musyoka, who operated a butchery, mentioned he was going to get some meat on Valley Road before they parted ways around 10:30 a.m.

“I asked him where he had gotten my son’s phone and inquired about his whereabouts. He informed me he was not in a position to explain the situation before ending the call,” Nduku narrated. Later, she received a call informing her that her son had “gone to heaven.”

“I don’t want anything to do with this government for the pain they have inflicted on me. God will avenge my son,” she declared. She also had a message for the officer who shot her son. “I would want to get answers from him on why he shot my son. Why did he shoot him when these young people were not doing anything wrong?”

Edith Wanjiku, the mother of 19-year-old Ibrahim Kamau, who was also shot dead by police,

Wanjiku then called her son’s friend, who informed her that he had Kamau’s phone but did not know his whereabouts.

Wanjiku began her search for her son at Holy Family Basilica, where injured protestors were being treated. She was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, then Mbagathi, and finally, City Mortuary, where she found her son among the deceased.

Wanjiku condemned the government’s actions and demanded accountability.

“What we witnessed yesterday was horrifying and sad for our country. My son chose to go to the protests because of the Bill, and I allowed him. Among all those he left with; he is the only one who ended up dead.” She questioned why her son was killed while protesting peacefully.

“I would ask my son’s killer why he killed my son, who was not a thief and was protesting as allowed in the constitution.” Her son was operating his motorcycle business in Eastleigh’s Biafra area.

Demonstrators hurl stones at Kenyan security forces during a protest in downtown Nairobi, on Tuesday, June 25.

“It’s more than about the finance bill now,” Maria, a Kenyan protestor from Nairobi told CNN.

“(They’re) killing us as young people for what? We come in peace,” she added.

William Ruto’s incompetence and brutal mismanagement of the country in the last week of protests has caught the attention of the whole world. It is about time.

Last but not least, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is now calling for an independent investigation on the ‘massacre’ meted on Githurai, Kiambu County residents on Tuesday night, following reports that police shot and killed an unknown number of the local residents.

Addressing the press in Nairobi, the LSK President Faith Odhiambo urged the international community to head the investigations stating that human rights were violated and a number of the residents injured.

“I dare ask, is Githurai a protected area? is it an area where members of the public should not stay? Why was there a massacre where people were living peacefully? We demand answers,” she stated.

At the same time, the Society castigated the government for deploying the Kenya Defence Forces to quell the fracas stating that Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula contravened the law.

“The government’s action is unconstitutional and therefore illegal,” Odhiambo said.

Her statement came even as police remain mum over the alleged killings with the locals claiming that police went on a shooting spree killing and injuring people who were minding their own businesses.

In a quick rejoinder, the police stated that 20 of their officers were injured after a group of about 6,000 youths attacked them and lit a bonfire on Thika Road.

“As they were withdrawing they blocked the road with an electric pole and consequently cut off the police Land Cruiser belonging to Mwiki police station from the convoy and completely burned it down and vandalised its remains,” an OB report seen by The Standard read in part.

In the same breath, the Kenya Human Rights Commission issued a statement saying that at least 30 people were shot dead in Githurai on Tuesday, and 100 are nursing gunshot wounds.

And now that the Ruto budget has been thrown in the garbage what happens in terms of running the country?

William Ruto survived the ICC in the 2007/8 genocide starting with that horrific Kiambaa church massacre. If he does not get his act together he will not escape this round at the ICC with Kenyans being killed everywhere in the country by his police and his security officers. Kenyans know what Ruto is capable of doing to the citizens of the country.
