This was the opposition chief Kalonzo doing his thing.
“Asante sana Makutano Junction and Mlolongo for the overwhelming Machakos Declaration today. I also thank you for your reception of The People’s Loyal Coalition Team of Second Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya,” Kalonzo Musyoka.
And Matiang’i is in town. Talk about a laughing stock. Don’t laugh now please. Later.

Over the period, the former CS who served during the 4th President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure, has remained tight-lipped on the matter.
His arrival comes shortly after the Jubilee party had also declared support for his candidature in the 2027 General Elections.
On several occasions, the party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has announced the party’s support for Matiang’i even as they wooed him to fly the party’s flag.
“We’ve settled on Matiang’i as our candidate. Not to mean that he becomes an eventual presidential candidate but a presidential candidate within the party who would then join others in coming up with one person who I believe as a coalition we will be able to back,” Kioni said in February at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.
A section of Kisii leaders including, Senator Onyonka has also publicly endorsed his candidature.
This emerged after discussions about Matiang’i plans to challenge President Ruto in the upcoming elections flooded social media, with the talks attracting opposition and support in equal measure.
At the same time, recent reports of his engagement with a Canadian lobby firm, Dickens & Madison to strategise his campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections, have also hinted at Matiang’i running for the country’s top seat.
Has been engaged as an employee of the World Bank based in Washington DC, United States, a role his insiders say he may quit to join politics.
This is real bad news for the opposition in Kenya. The first issue is to figure out why Jubilee and Jeremiah Kioni are hooked up on Fred Matiang’i. The simple fact is that Jubilee is not married to the Gachagua project as the chief of Mt. Kenya votes. Jubilee is going for their own candidate and it is going to be Matiang’i. Kioni could be Matiang’i’s DP or they could go for Natembeya from Trans Zoia.
Rigathi Gachagua is not going to support that ticket because his big deal is that he gave the Kikuyu vote to William Ruto and he kicked them out. So Gachagua is going to get his own Kikuyu presidential candidate and ask Kalonzo Muysoka to be the DP and that will not work so Kalonzo will run his presidential campaign and pick someone like Ndindi Nyoro as his DP. Martha Karua will cry about all that and also pick her own DP and run for the presidency. Ruto will be laughing all the way to State House.
I’ve today met with ODM Party members of parliament, Hon Amina Mnyazi of Malindi and Hon Getrude Mwanyanje of Kilifi. They’ve given me an update on developments happening in their constituencies and Kilifi county generally. The ODM Party remains the political vehicle of choice in the region they’ve assured me.
In a desperate move the entire opposition may go to Raila Odinga and ask him to go for the presidency and take out William Ruto on condition that he will only be a one term president and let them battle it out in 2032.
Then Raila can do to Ruto what he did to Moi. Work with him and then throw him out of office. Maybe I am crazy but that is the only way I see William Ruto out of State House in 2027. Otherwise he will be there until 2032.
