Maragua Member of Parliament Mary Wamaua has publicly distanced herself from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and declared her unwavering support for President William Ruto.
Speaking during President Ruto’s development tour in Murang’a County on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Wamaua made a dramatic political about-turn, acknowledging that she had made a momentary misstep in the past.
“Professor Kithure Kindiki is my good friend. Right from November, we were talking with Kindiki, and he is here. Your Excellency, since December, we had started talking, and I told you that you are my friend, even though I slipped a little,” Wamaua stated.
Wamaua had been a close ally of Gachagua and was among the MPs who opposed his impeachment process.
