Azimio Chairperson Uhuru Kenyatta and the outfit’s leader Raila Odinga met in Mombasa this evening ahead of the outfit’s planned public rally in Nairobi next week December 7th. This is according to a source who confided to this publication on condition of anonymity.

Mr. Odinga was in Kilifi today accompanied by former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe for Governor Gideon Mungáro’s thanksgiving ceremony. Both Mr. Odinga and Mr. Kenyatta have homes in Mombasa.

Yesterday, the Azimio leader asked his supporters to convene at Kamukunji Grounds on December 7 and on December 12th to chart a way forward on how to keep President William Ruto’s government in check.

“On December 7, at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi, we’ll launch public consultations with the people of Kenya to brainstorm on the direction the country is taking. We will return to the same venue on December 12 to continue with these consultations on the state of our nation,” Odinga said.

However, not all Azimio affiliate parties are supporting the ODM leader. Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni says the party would not take part in the rallies that are to start at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi on Wednesday.

“Jubilee does not advocate for chaos. It is not part of our agenda,” Mr. Kioni said.

He, however, added that the former ruling party is solidly in Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

“Jubilee is in Azimio, but that does not stop us from pushing our party’s agenda. We will support the government of the day and correct it on behalf of Kenyans,” Mr. Kioni added.
