Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga to hold joint Azimio rally this weekend

1 min read

Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has passed a resolution to join the grand Azimio la Umoja coalition party comprising other 14 political parties. This comes even as President Uhuru and the former prime minister prepare to hold a join Azimio rally in the city this weekend on Sunday.

This afternoon, ODM’s National Executive Council (NEC) formally endorsed Raila as a presidential candidate and mandated him to negotiate with other like-minded parties ahead of the orange party’s two-day NDC from tomorrow.

In a statement released by party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, ODM NEC also proposed an amendment to the party’s constitution to include the disability league and the Council of County Coordinating Committee Chairs as new organs of the party.
