Uhuru confident Kenyans will elect Raila as president

President Uhuru Kenyatta is confident Raila Odinga will take over from him as he retires next year. Speaking in Karen at the Azimio Movement leader’s residence, the head of state said Kenyans are interested in a peaceful environment for them to thrive, and a leader who will transform their lives, all of which Mr. Odinga fits.

On Friday, Raila Odinga celebrated his 77th birthday at the Bomas of Kenya, an event whose climax was an invite-only party in Karen where President Uhuru Kenyatta was present.

The Head of State arrived at the Odinga’s few minutes to midnight and stayed until minutes past 2 am and left.

The Mt Kenya Foundation, elected leaders including Majority and Minority leaders in the Senate, Samuel Poghisio and James Orengo respectively. Members of parliament from both Jubilee and ODM parties were also present.
