Homabay gubernatorial aspirant on an Independent ticket, Dr. Evans Kidero is a piece in the wider scheme of Gideon Moi’s plot, as he is seen by the KANU boss as the next Luo leader after Mr. Odinga retires from office.

Dr. Kidero’s partnership with the Mois is a countermove against Raila Odinga’s firm grip plus the formidable ODM war chest in Luo Nyanza.
This has seen the aspirant enjoy among other favors, unlimited coverage from The Standard Group and KTN Network as well as Moi’s deep pockets.
It is for the above that Kidero has flatly rejected calls to step down from the race, insisting he is in it to the ballot.
