A section of Rift Valley MPs on Saturday night met in Karen at the home of a renowned Cabinet Secretary after their Mt Kenya partners joined hands with the Opposition to humiliate President Ruto in Parliament on Thursday. This is according to a source who confided to this publication on condition of anonymity.
Mt Kenya MPs were unhappy with the outcome of a Parliamentary Group meeting hosted by President William Ruto during which members voted to endorse Hassan Omar Hassan, Fred Muteti, Zipporah Kering, David Sankok, and Falhada Dekow as UDA representatives for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
The agenda of last night’s meeting the source says was crafting a framework that will see the ruling party MPs, mostly from the Rift Valley, establish a good working relationship with their counterparts in ODM and other affiliate Azimio parties for future partnerships if Mt Kenya defies Kenya Kwanza the President again.
The MPs are also concerned by revelations a Cabinet Secretary from Mt Kenya was part of the plot to defeat the president’s nominees after the official met Azimio MPs in Parliament on Thursday morning ahead of the EALA vote.
