Raila’s Legacy Honored As Ruto Unveils Mausoleum in Bondo

President William Ruto on Wednesday officially unveiled and dedicated the mausoleum of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Kang’o ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County.

Ruto was joined at the ceremony by Raila’s widow, Mama Ida Odinga, members of the Odinga family, clergy and other dignitaries.

The President led the dedication ceremony before a memorial service held at the site, marking the formal opening of the facility honouring the former Prime Minister.

During the ceremony, Ruto read a presidential citation recognising Raila’s contribution to Kenya’s political and democratic history.

In the citation, the President described Raila as a courageous leader, patriot and Pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the pursuit of freedom, justice and democracy.

The ceremony brought together political leaders, family members and members of the public to honour Raila’s legacy at Kang’o ka Jaramogi, the historic home of his father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
