Raila Junior Engages ODM Constituency Chairs as 2027 Race Takes Shape

Raila Odinga Junior has met chairpersons of the 17 ODM constituencies in Nairobi as he prepares to launch his bid for the Kibra parliamentary seat ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement shared on Saturday, October 10, 2026, following a meeting at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation (JOOF), Raila Junior said the engagement provided an opportunity for the party officials to exchange ideas and discuss ways of strengthening ODM’s grassroots networks.

“We held an introductory meeting at JOOF with the 17 ODM Nairobi Constituency Chairpersons, sharing ideas, getting to know each other, and discussing key issues as we strengthen our grassroots connections,” he said.

He thanked the officials for attending, expressing confidence in the party’s organisation and continued political mobilisation.

“Asanteni for coming through. Chama iko imara, na safari inaendelea!” he added.

The meeting comes as Raila Junior positions himself for a parliamentary contest in Kibra, a constituency that has long been a stronghold of the Odinga political family and ODM.

The engagement with Nairobi’s constituency chairpersons could signal efforts to build grassroots support as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.

ODM is seeking to consolidate its support in Nairobi, a politically competitive county whose constituencies will be central to the party’s electoral calculations.
