President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM boss Raila Odinga and the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) are closer to reaching a deal, which will see the Head of State forming a super political vehicle bringing together all the country’s political bigwigs and some of the new regional parties.

According to sources close to Uhuru and Raila, the two leaders have settled on a single political vehicle which is supposed to be announced as early as December.

”There is a discussion of a party of national unity that will come out soon. It will bring on board all those people including Raila and all [Oka] principals,” the source confided to a local publication.

The remarks were echoed by Jubilee joint parliamentary group secretary Adan Keynan hinted at the accommodation of OKA in the Jubilee-ODM collation, saying that the ruling party’s priority was to realise the President’s national unity quest.

“Our doors are indeed open. They (doors) are also open to the Oka team and all other like-minded political players with a genuine commitment to the realisation of a more united and more prosperous country after the 2022 polls,” the MP said.

From March this year, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been working tirelessly behind the scene to ensure the former NASA principals join hands to work together in 2022.
