President William Ruto is extending an olive branch to his arch-rival Raila Odinga whom he went toe to toe with in the concluded August Presidential elections saying he will accord the Azimio leader plus former President Uhuru respect as well as seek their help in other aspects of the country’s leadership.

Speaking during a Sunday church service at the AIC Church in Homabay Town, President Ruto also told voters from the region he was committed to working with all the leaders they had elected to office regardless of their political affiliations.

”We respect Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. We will ensure they are given their respect as they continue to help us in other aspects of leadership. Leave the elders to me, I will sort them with respect,” the President said.

”The competition is now over, and this hustler was elected as the President of Kenya. You have my commitment that I am going to work with all the leaders you elected,” he added.

Earlier, Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga had put out a statement welcoming the Head of State to the county, but expressed her regrets she is in Mombasa for official duties and was not able to receive the President.
