Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya says it is only Raila who can effectively move the country forward after President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.
Speaking in Nyeri at the Azimio la Umoja for Mt Kenya West, the Agriculture CS also hit out at politicians claiming they owned the Mt Kenya vote telling them the region will not be forced to back anyone in 2022.
”We are confident in Raila Odinga. We have resolved ‘ki-roho safi’, to support Baba for the Presidency after President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves office,” CS Munya said.
”We cannot give out our votes just for the sake of peace or to continue enjoying our rights. We cannot buy our rights by voting for someone,” he added.

CS Munya is among cabinet secretaries who have been accused of openly campaigning for the ODM boss. Others are Eugene Wamalwa (Defense), Fred Matiangi (Interior) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).
Raila Odinga has been on a two-day tour of Nyeri which kicked off with a reconciliation ceremony between Luo and Kikuyu elders, and later a meeting with the region’s leaders including elected and government officials.
The tour has seen the region’s leaders and governors among them Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), James Nyoro (Kiambu), Nderitu Mureithi (Laikipia) and Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) throw their weight behind the ODM leader’s 2022 presidential bid.
