Okiya Omtatah is Not a Billionaire. Exactly Why he has Good Chance to be Kenya’s President in 2027

President Ruto’s pets including the forever COTU boss Francis Atwoli have been busy shouting about how Okiya Omtatah cannot beat Ruto for the presidency in 2027 because William Ruto is a multi-billionaire and Omtatah is a poor senator from Busia.

Speaking in a TV interview on Wednesday night, November 27, Atwoli weighed in on Omtatah’s 2027 presidential bid, highlighting the need for financial preparedness.

“If he came to me, I would tell him, let me see your budget. Are you going to depend on well-wishers, or what do you have as a person? Because when you are emerging for a political position, you must have saved. The world over, nobody wants to be associated with a poor person,” Atwoli said

“But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Nothing is ruled out; everything is possible. When we are at war, you don’t leave the battle to soldiers. War is never won by soldiers but by the general people who rise behind them,” he said.

Omtatah maintained that there must be calls from the ground with clear rules of engagement before he considers running in 2027.

He explained that there must be clear structures within which he will operate, to limit his influence and help him resist the temptations of power.

“I must be me leading a team where I am indispensable not a personality cult, otherwise I will be set up for a personality failure,” he said.

“I am not superhuman. There must be those clear terms of engagement but most important as part of a team not as an individual collecting all manner of characters to proper over the pass line.”

Additionally, the Senator said he must see evidence that Gen Z has registered as voters and that there is a change in how elections are conducted.

“We must have a digital election. If these things are in place I will comfortably run for the president of this country if the people of Kenya think that I am the best the candidate within that particular time,” he said.

Okiya Omtatah stated that presidential election results should be declared at the constituency level, not at Bomas.

He explained that the results announced by the Constituency Returning Officer should be final, and the national tallying center should merely aggregate these results.

“We must get to a point where we have tamper prove elections that can be declared in real time without those who cook elections having time to manipulate and interfere with the results,” Omtatah stated.

There is one thing these rich Ruto supporters cannot understand. It is precisely because Omtatah is not a billionaire that makes him the best a candidate to beat William Ruto in 2027. Kenyans have known billionaire presidents since 1963 and all of them from Jomo Kenyatta, Arap Moi, Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru Kenyatta to William Ruto right now have made their billions from robbing the Kenyan taxpayers and leaving the country and the citizens broke and barely able to survive.

Kenyan presidents have taken office to get rich and be billionaires at the expense of the Kenyan public. Okiya Omtatah will be the first ever president if elected who is not a billionaire and is not seeking office to rob Kenyans and put billions in his private bank accounts. Okiya Omtatah does not want be a billionaire as Kenya’s president.

That is a startling gift that Kenyans will see very clearly. For once Kenyans could have a president whose job is not to steal money from the public and be super rich but rather to serve the Kenyan public to better their lives and that of their families.

In the meantime there is total chaos everywhere and this incident in Limuru is just bad and should not happen again.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken out about a Thursday incident that forced him to flee a funeral service in Limuru, Kiambu County after goons disrupted the event and indiscriminately attacked mourners.

In a statement on X, Gachagua insinuated that the State had intentionally withdrawn his security detail to facilitate such an attack.

“Earlier this week the government withdrew the final aspects of my security that was in place after the impeachment process we are contesting. We did not raise issue with this decision although expectations were that any Kenyan who has served at the level of government that I was privileged to serve at, would be secured by government even after leaving office,” he said.

Here is what we need to figure out in terms of the presidential election in 2027. One for sure is that the drama in Mount Kenya region is going to continue and escalate. The political result of that nobody knows. Kalonzo Muysoka is busy trying to navigate that for his political advantage.

In terms of tribal votes, if Okiya Omtatah is close to beating William Ruto in 2027, Mt. Kenya voters will vote for him because they really want to get rid of William Ruto for betraying them. They are not going to vote for someone in third place because they know it would be a waste of their votes.

Right now the big story is that William Ruto has bagged the ODM and Luo votes for supporting Raila Odinga for the AUC position.

If Okiya Omtatah is in the polls and has a chance to beat Ruto every Luo voter will vote for him because that is what they have been looking for since 1963. They wanted a regular and smart president and they thought Jaramogi was that person. Okiya Omtatah could become that kind of president for them.
