Mbadi calls on ODM to expel Sifuna
In media reports today, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has called on the Orange Democratic Movement Party to expel its Secretary General and Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna.
Speaking at a fundraiser at Kisaku Primary School in Suba South constituency on Monday, February 9, 2026, Mbadi has cited the reason for his recommendation on Sifuna’s expulsion as opposing the party’s leadership and taking decisions that are opposed to the Party Leader Oburu Odinga’s position and that of the former ODM Party Leader, the late Raila Odinga.
“The party ODM is very strong, and I can tell you for sure there is no way that ODM will be disbanded.ODM will remain solid the way Raila left it, and if you think that ODM will remain solid by having everybody there, including people whose agenda is opposite to what ODM wants, you are daydreaming. You must allow some people to exit ODM at this stage.
If someone does not want to agree with ODM policies and with the policies spelt out by the party leader after convening the central committee meeting, that person should be left to go so that we can see how many people he is leaving with. Somebody like Sifuna will not remain in ODM because he is already conflicted,” Mbadi said.
Mbadi has asked party leader Oburu Oginga to consider convening a Central Management Committee (CMC) meeting to address the fate of Sifuna.
Speaking in Suba South, Homa Bay county on Sunday, Mbadi said it is time that those who disagree with the party are shown the door, claiming that the Nairobi Senator and his group had switched their allegiance to the United Opposition.
“ODM is a solid party. There is no way it will fail. It will remain solid the way Raila left it. Some people think we can not play politics. We will, and we will ensure we talk to our people to remain steadfast in ODM under the leadership of Oburu Oginga,” Mbadi argued.
Looking at the whole picture I would say, ODM has more important things to deal with than wasting their time fighting the Sifuna group because that is what those hungry politicians are hoping for as they have no agenda for anything.
Edwin Sifuna and the likes of Babu Owino would love to join the opposition, but nobody wants them there because they are just too toxic. They would love to kneel down to Kalonzo to help them win seats in Nairobi, but Gachagua will not allow that since he wants all those seats in Nairobi including the senate seat held by Sifuna.
The embarrassing part of the rebel group is to ignore them and let them run around doing whatever they want to do and ODM goes on with their business undisturbed. Let them have their dance and when they get tired, they will sit down and ask themselves what they have achieved with their little theatrics.
One real terrible thing these so called ODM rebels have done is to so loudly tell ODM party leader Dr. Oburu Oginga that he is a piece of rubbish as far as they are concerned and they do not recognize him as their leader. That is good for them and they can just leave instead of pretending they can grab ODM for themselves. They know those are delusions heading nowhere.
Dr Oburu as the ODM leader should treat the attacks on him and ODM by these desperate folks with the same dignity he has shown since taking top leadership in ODM.

Please, Dr. Oburu we implore you to refuse to jump in a mud wrestling match which is what the Sifunas want. Let them have that wrestling by themselves and focus on what is next for your party specifically making sure that the NADCO 10-point agreement between UDA and ODM is handled to the satisfaction of Kenyans starting with the compensation for victims of state violence since 2017 as promised by President Ruto.
Kenyans are getting tired of waiting for the compensation process to begin. Dr. Oburu has to talk directly to President William Ruto on this and agree to invite Kenyan National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) to come and join the Makau Mutua team picked by President Ruto and get things done.
How many times do Kenyans have to ask ODM and the Ruto government to at least fulfill their promise on compensation for victims of state terror when all they need to do now is get KNCHR there and everything gets moving?
Kenyans need action on this matter which is very important to them in terms of human rights in their country and it has to be done now.

These group of ODM leaders are making themselves political orphans on their own and ODM should not help them and play into their hands. ODM leadership need to completely ignore these people and very soon the whole country will be laughing at them because they will be dangling there like a dying fruit hanging on a tree waiting to be picked and only goats are coming around to eat everything.
James Orengo was big at the rallies declaring that ODM will run a presidential candidate, that is great for him because I am sure there are millions of Kenyans out there waiting to vote for James Orengo as Kenya’s president in August 10, 2027. Orengo should pick up Edwin Sifuna as his running mate and bingo ODM will take over State House with James Orengo as the guy in charge.
Sifuna, Orengo lead ODM revolt against Ruto, UDA deal in Busia
Leaders say Orange party will field a presidential candidate to challenge in 2027

James Orengo knows he cannot get 10 votes if he runs for the presidency and the way things are going where he disappears from his job as Siaya governor for months and nobody knows where he is, he may not get those 10 votes running as Siaya governor in 2027.
Babu Owino is ordering ODM to hand the party over to him so he can put it in his pocket because Baba built the party for him. Sifuna goes to Busia and starts attacking ODM members in other counties like Homa Bay, Kisumu and Siaya in an effort to build some tribal animosity within ODM between the Luhya communities and the Luos in Nyanza. Who the hell can take people like these self-declared political orphans seriously?
Let them have their few days running around and if they are lucky Gachagua will call them to Wamunyoro if not it is all dead and over with kabisa. If they want to go to Wamunyoro they need to have a few goats and those are not going to be ODM members being sold as goats to Gachagua.

For Babu Owino hoping for that Nairobi governor run if Kalonzo begs Gachagua to allow him, Jubilee has already launched their candidate Pauline Njoroge and Uhuru and Matiang’i will have to cry in front of Gachagua to allow that to happen. Where does that leave these ODM fellas running around to be sponsored for seats in Nairobi.
If you are Edwin Sifuna and you want to keep that Nairobi senate seat you are sticking with ODM and they can tell UDA they already have that seat and UDA needs to support their candidate. Under the circumstances now, UDA and ODM will nominate somebody else. Tim Wanyonyi and George Aladwa are already big in Nairobi politics and could even go for the governor job.

Simply put, Gachagua and Uhuru will decide who runs for seats in Nairobi for the opposition and Kalonzo will have to fight for a few slots here and there. UDA and ODM will go for the fight in Nairobi as a team then Sifuna and Babu Owino can run as candidates for their new party if they can form one soon enough.
Pauline Njoroge kicks off Nairobi gubernatorial campaign

Jubilee Party organising secretary Pauline Njoroge has kicked off her quest for the Nairobi gubernatorial race with public activations in the Kasarani and Roysambu areas.
Pauline Njoroge, who for the recent past has left many tongues wagging after setting up billboards all over the city with the slogan “A New Deal for Nairobi” without specifying the seat she was eyeing, has now come out fully.
On Monday, February 9, 2026, she stated that she wants to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the city under the Jubilee Party ticket.
She urged the Roysambu locals to help support her bid, saying that she cannot manage it alone but needs the collective efforts of every Nairobi resident.
Pauline Njoroge Endorsed Babu Owino for 2027 Nairobi Gubernatorial Seat last year and now she wants to be the Nairobi governor and Jubilee and Uhuru are ready to take her there: What happens to our good Friend Babu Owino who I and many Kenyans actually like as a smart politician?

This could be a perfect re-union where Pauline Njoroge runs for Nairobi governor and Babu Owino run as her deputy. Damn it I am lazy. There is no such job as Deputy Governor.
These young ODM voices have to ask themselves why they are putting themselves in a lose lose situation. Is it really worth the effort for them. That is what they have to deal with and good luck my friends. Common sense may help.
